Vaccinations
Proper vaccination is a crucial step to preventing contagious, potentially life-threatening diseases. It is far easier to vaccinate to prevent diseases such as distemper or parvovirus than it is to try to treat the illnesses.
Not every animal needs every vaccination, but all pets need some vaccinations. Dr. Ridlen will examine your pets and make recommendations as to the proper vaccination protocol for your individual pets. This decision will be based on a variety of factors, including your pet's age, health, prior vaccination, potential exposure to diseases, and lifestyle. All kittens and puppies must receive a series of vaccines to make sure they are adequately protected. Then, once your pet is an adult, they may be given some vaccines annually and others at longer intervals.
The vaccine needs of adult pets will vary and Dr. Ridlen will design an individualized vaccine booster program to meet your pet's needs. Whenever possible, a three year vaccine will be administered. Dr. Ridlen uses a vaccine that has been approved by the US government for 3-year protection against certain diseases.
