Large Animal Youngster Support

Dr. Ridlen feels strongly that the youth of our country should be supported and educated. To this end, he makes a point of helping out those 4H'ers and FFA children that bring their livestock to the local fairs. Dr. Ridlen performs pre-fair examinations on their livestock, checking for health, weight, and pregnancy status. He also performs brucellosis testing at this time. This information is recorded and as a health record, allows the youngsters to enter their animals into the fair. Dr. Ridlen performs these exams at a low cost to the children and then donates the income back to the fair. The children learn about the costs of raising livestock and both the fair and the children benefit from Dr. Ridlen's expertise.
