Horse Wellness & Preventative Care

Your horses need to feel good and move freely in order to perform at their best at all times. Keeping your horses healthy and sound requires providing the best in equine management year round, including housing, hoof care, diet, vaccinations, internal and external parasite control, and veterinary surgical and medical care. Dr. Ridlen is here to help with all aspects of your horses' medical care, including answering questions about management. Horse can either be brought to the animal hospital or examined at the farm.

To keep your horses healthy, routine wellness care is a must. Horses must be vaccinated at least once per year and receive scheduled dewormings throughout the year. Annual physical examinations are also a wise idea. These examinations provide an opportunity to make sure the horses are in good physical shape and catch any minor problems before they grow into bigger ones. Questions regarding reproduction, diet, management, and behavior can be addressed at these exams and the animals can be examined for oral and dental problems that require treatment. Additionally, the horses require routine oral and dental care to prevent lack of appetite and medical problems associated with improperly aligned teeth.

Wellness Care Includes:

  • Routine physical examinations
